Conservation Field Day
Conservation Field Days are designed so that students can step out of the indoor classroom and into the outdoor environment at The Lilly Nature Center/Celery Bog Nature Area in West Lafayette. These hands-on workshops/field days are held on-site where students are divided into groups and rotated through learning stations. These learning stations are conducted by experts in their field from, Purdue, Department of Natural Resources, Saint Joseph’s College, Purdue Extension, Christopher Burke Engineering and others. Examples of these sessions are as follows: water quality, water testing, macro-invertebrates, soil conservation, bio-diversity, forestry, and native species, just to name a few.
