Conservation Field Day
Conservation Field Day. Targeted audience is 4th grade. Conservation Field Day is designed so that students can step out of the indoor classroom and into the outdoor environment at Martell Forest in West Lafayette.
Approximately 300 fourth grade students from Tippecanoe County will experience this one-day event. This hands-on field day is held on-site where students are divided into groups and rotated through learning stations, that are conducted by experts in their field. Examples of these sessions are as follows: Water quality testing, watersheds, macro-invertebrates, Soils, bio-diversity, forestry, native species, just to name a few. This program is an extension to several students that will participate in Wonders on the Wabash when they reach sixth grade.
