De-Trash the Wabash
De-Trash the Wabash happens every spring and fall. Local groups, university students, and other volunteers work together to remove trash and debris from the banks of the Wabash River. In fall 2018, more than 170 volunteers removed two tons of tires, fencing, plastic, and other pollution from the river.
Volunteers meet at Tapawingo Park in West Lafayette before being dispersed to their locations along the Wabash River and Wabash River Heritage Trail. To thank all of the wonderful volunteers, pizza is provided at the end of the event! Join us in fall 2019 and invite your friends!
Our Stormwater Educator meets with individual homeowners, neighborhoods, homeowners associations (HOAs), and other residential groups to answer questions and give recommendations for improving drainage or alleviating stormwater issues.
